Congress

The men and women of the United States Congress recognize that they have a duty to protect the families of those who protect our country. The Impact Aid community is fortunate to have the support of members of Congress through the House and Senate Impact Aid Coalitions. The mission of the coalitions is to strengthen the Impact Aid program as well as educate Members of Congress on the program’s merits. The House Impact Aid Coalition has 110 Representatives and the Senate Impact Aid Coalition has 45 members.

Impact Aid is scheduled to be reauthorized in FY’08. MISA leaders are working with the House and Senate Impact Aid Coalitions and the National Association of Federally Impacted Schools (NAFIS) and Members of Congress to ensure that the program continues. Through these efforts, Congress is able to ensure that no military child is left behind because of undue financial hardship on the schools that educate them.
