Deployment of military personnel can range from six months to fifteen months at
a time, depending on the military service. Many soldiers, for example, are on their
third deployment of twelve to fifteen months.
Educators are partnering with local military installations to do everything they
can to support the children in the classroom as well as the military families at
home. Understanding the phases of deployment, resources that are available, and
some of the best practices of school districts can provide support and help connect
military families through stressful times.
One of the best resources for school districts is their local military installations.
