The Military Impacted Schools Association has been working with DoDEA, the Council of State Governments, and other military associations on developing an Interstate Compact as it relates to transition issues for military families. MISA believes that a great deal can be solved by having the right attitude and working together to address the needs of military families.

Many issues and their solutions addressed in the Interstate Compact are best practices in MISA school districts. There are issues in some states that need to be addressed through legislation to allow school districts to do what is right for our military families. The Interstate Compact is basically working with states and local school districts to address the most common issues faced by military families.
